The agent that represents Khalilou Fadiga has confirmed that Liverpool have been in contact with him as regards a possible switch to Anfield.

"I have been contacted by Liverpool about Fadiga," said Willie McKay.

"I have spoken to Gerard Houllier and Rick Parry and they are very interested in him.

"Fadiga's room-mate on international duty is El Hadji Diouf and he has told him all about Liverpool.

"The player is very keen on a move to England especially a big club like Liverpool.

"There are two other clubs in England interested in him but as yet there has not been any offers.

"He could do a fantastic job on the left or the right side of midfield and could even work down the middle if needs be."

Fadiga himself has admitted that he would be up for a move to Anfield.

He said: "Liverpool are a very big club and Gerard Houllier is a top coach.

"I respect Houllier as a coach and I am excited about a move to Liverpool.

"I have spoke to my agent Willie McKay and hope that a move to Liverpool can be agreed."
