Agent flies out to Liverpool camp

Football agent Pavel Paska, who represents Liverpool duo Vladimir Smicer and Patrik Berger, is on his way to the pre-season training camp in Switzerland for crunch contract talks.

Smicer has privately expressed his unhappiness at Liverpool's attempts to sign Lee Bowyer and Damien Duff.

Because he can sign a pre-contract with another club in January and leave on a free next summer, the Czech is considering his options very carefully. Gerard Houllier has offered Smicer a new deal that would run until 2005 but the player has showed no signs of signing as yet.

Paska also wants more than the one year deal that has been offered to Berger but Houllier is unlikely to negotiate his final offer.
