Aldridge rebukes Baros rumours

Gerard Houllier's recent words of encouragment for Baros have not stopped media reports claiming that the 21-year old is set to join German side Hertha Berlin. Aldridge, though, feels that Baros has a great future ahead of him at Anfield.

Aldridge said: "Milan Baros is a rich talent and deserves the praise he received this week from Gerard Houllier. He is still raw, he is still a little naive but I rate him very highly.

"The 21-year-old causes problems for defenders, rubs people up the wrong way and has a great eye for goal. He has been unfortunate in recent weeks, coming off in the Worthington Cup Final and against Manchester United last weekend because of tactical changes.

"But the manager has been at pains to reassure him he is valued. That is important. The player should remain upbeat and appreciate the manager's decisions.

"I have heard talk of a fall-out between the manager and the striker but that is rubbish. Houllier made that clear with his praise this week and it was good to hear."
