But the Spanish midfielder said he was sure the Reds would begin to score more, hopefully starting at Birmingham on Saturday.

"Not scoring goals is a worry for us, there's no doubt about it. We are worried because we want to win games and that means we have to score goals. We have to work on that and try to score more," Alonso said.

He added, "I am confident we have enough good players and enough quality to get goals. Look at what we did in Seville against Real Betis. We controlled the first half and scored two good goals."

And Alonso praised the defensive set-up at the moment, and conceded the main problem now was goals.

"I am sure in our next game and the games after that we will show an improvement. We have to get the balance right because at the moment our defensive work is perfect. We haven't conceded a goal yet and we have to continue in this way but also look to do better in terms of scoring."
