Alonso confident

Spain play Germany in the final of Euro 2008 tonight and although Alonso is expecting a difficult game he is confident the Spanish can get a result and end 44 years of hurt.

"I don't know how it worked 44 years ago, but having been with the boys for a month, the group is fantastic," said the Liverpool midfielder.

"We have a great atmosphere in the changing room. That is one of the keys to our success at the moment.

"I don't think there's a clear favourite.

"The teams are pretty close, and anything can happen in a final. [Germany] have a great team with a lot of experience. Two years ago, they had a great World Cup. They changed their coach but have continued on the same line.

"The best is yet to come and we need to finish off what we have done so far.

"We have to contain our happiness because we have yet to win the biggest game of all. We're hungry for success."
