"I believe this experience is going to be very good," said the Spanish midfielder. "Until now everything I have seen and been told has excited me a lot.

"I don't consider that I'm going to have to work more on the physical side of my game. It does not bother me to have left La Liga.
"I have had good moments there, but I always think positively and now a very exciting experience is beginning here in England with Liverpool.
"I do not know why Real Madrid did not seal my signing. I can't answer that question, that is something you would have to ask them. What I do know is that I am going to triumph at the Reds."
