Alonso to make comeback

Alonso was an unused subsitute in Liverpool's 2-1 win over Juventus yesterday and Rafael Benitez admitted he did not want to bring the Spaniard on against Juve unless it was absolutely necessary as he is lacking in match fitness.

Alonso will instead make his return against Leeds reserves at the Racecourse later this evening and should play some part against Manchester City at the weekend.
