Alonso wants to leave

The midfielder has told Rafael Benitez he wants to join Real Madrid. The manager is waiting for Alonso to go public with his desire to leave and put in an official transfer request but Alonso is hoping the transfer can be sorted out without him having to do that.

Benitez is also refusing to budge in his valuation of the player. Real have offered £25m for Alonso but the boss wants £35m.
