Liverpool are demanding £16million for their Spanish midfielder but Juve are looking at other possible signings, including Roma's Alberto Aquilani.
"There are more than two names we are considering to strengthen our midfield," said boss Claudio Ranieri.
"We will choose the player who gives us the best opportunity to improve this side."
