In a statement which was released to the London Stock Exchange, the club stated that: "The club has discontinued discussions with the L4 Group. A further announcement will be made when appropriate."
However, it added: "The board of Liverpool FC confirms it is continuing discussions with a number of parties regarding a potential investment of new funds into the club."
