Anelka deal on verge of collapse

Liverpool will have to fork out around £26million on Nicolas Anelka should they decide to sign him from Paris St Germain.

As revealed on the Insider last month, Anelka's proposed transfer isn't going to be as easy as everyone thinks.

Anelka's advisors, his brothers, are demanding a massive £60,000 a week in wages for the striker that would make him one of the biggest earners at the club. On top of that his brothers want the club to pay out a massive £1.5million signing-on fee.

If a 4-year contract was offered, the wages (not including bonuses) would be worth a staggering £13million. Throw in his transfer fee and the whole deal looks extremely expensive.

Djibril Cisse remains a serious Liverpool target.
