Keegan said: "Whatever people think of Nicolas, he has been our top scorer for the last two seasons and I am sure he will continue to score goals for us as long as he is here.
"How long that will be, nobody knows. But he is still under contract to Manchester City until 2007 and we still owe £5 million of his transfer fee so it would be suicidal to let him go anywhere unless we received a massive bid."
