Anfield backing for Baros

The 22-year-old Anfield hitman has already hit five goals to lead the chase for the Golden Boot as the Czech's continue their impressive winning streak in Portugal.

Comparisons between Baros's sensational form for his nation and his struggles to even make the Liverpool team have been quickly made in recent days, but Parry insists that all at the club are fully aware of the young forward's talents.

Parry said: “There is great excitement here over Milan’s displays.

“We have always recognised his potential but he was very unlucky last season.

“He was just coming into form and looking sharp when he suffered a broken leg.”

Parry added: “From the day we signed him, his form at international level has always been remarkable. Even as a youngster he was knocking in the goals for the Czech Republic.”
