Another award for Diouf

He has been named BBC African Player Of The Year for 2002 after an amazing performance to help Senegal to the quarter-finals of the World Cup in the summer and a successfiul introduction to the Premiership with Liverpool this season.

Everton's Nigerian centre-back Joseph Yobo came second and Mido of Ajax and Egypt in third.

The award is the second for Diouf this month, after picking up the African Player Of The Year Award for the second successive year.
