One of Liverpool's future signings Florent Sinama-Pongolle has suffered a major set-back after being struck down with a flu-like virus which has ruled him out for the remainder of the season.
The Le Havre starlet, who is scheduled to join the Reds in 2003, is suffering from 'monuncleosis-mono', a serious but non life-threatening virus which has ruled him out for the rest of the French season.
Coach Jean-Francois Domergue confirmed: "We will make a complete biological examination in fifteen days - his season is over."
