Arbeloa pleased with Real return

The Liverpool full-back spent five years with Real Madrid, making only eight first team appearances, before joining the Reds via Deportivo La Coruna. Wednesday's win was a happy return to his first club.

"It was a bit special returning here, but once the whistle goes you have to forget about all that and focus on the game," said Arbeloa.

"We are really happy - it's a great result.

"We played to win the game, but it's always difficult to win here. We performed well and have given ourselves a good chance of eliminating Real Madrid."
