Although the Reds have lost three times to the Gunners already this season, Rafa Benitez's men will be under no illusions as to the magnitude of this fixture.

Pennant believes the game will have huge significance on which side manages to finish in third spot, despite the season still having a couple of months to run.

He said, "Whoever wins this game will finish third. For that reason this is one of our biggest games of the season. Apart from this game I don't think either side has a difficult run-in and that's why this is a big, big match."

Pennant added, "They have to come to Anfield which, apart from the Man United game in the league, has been a fortress for us. If we play as well as we can then we can get the right result."

"They have beaten us a few times this season so it's time for us to get a victory," the Reds' midfielder concluded.
