Liverpool drew 1-1 with Stoke at the Brittania Stadium yesterday but Aurelio believes the Reds deserved to take all three points from the game.
"It was difficult to take conceding a last minute goal because we deserved to win," said the Brazilian.
"You know you will be in for a very physical game when you come to Stoke but we battled well until they scored.
"I also felt we were a little hard done by. After speaking to Lucas after the game he felt we should have had two clear penalties but the referee didn't see it.
"I thought the attitude of everyone was really good after the bad moment the team is having. We have to fight in every game.
"We can take confidence from this performance. We don't have Fernando, Steven and Yossi but we have to go with what we have. We all have to take responsibility and work hard."
