The Brazilian has been out with a calf injury since the draw with Stoke a fortnight ago but has returned to training and is available for the derby.
"Fabio is back in training which is good news. Whether he will be ready for Saturday, well we will have to assess that in the next few days," said Sammy Lee.
"But the positive thing is that we have Nabil, Martin Kelly and Fabio back in training."
