Following a disappointing 1-1 draw in their opening group game by Oman and an embaressing 3-1 defeat by Iraq the Socceroos had to win their final game against Thailand to progress.
The Aussies have progressed with a 4-0 win yesterday. Harry Kewell scored the fourth as Australia set up a quarter final date with Japan.
