Babbel completes Blackburn move

The 30-year-old former German international has struggled to reclaim the sparkling form that made him such a hit at Anfield during the treble season after suffering from the life-threatening Guillan-Barre syndrome during his second season at the club.
Babbel, who joined the club on a free transfer from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the summer of 2000, had found himself behind both Steve Finnan and Jamie Carragher in the battle to be first choice right-back at Anfield and will see the move to Ewood Park as an ideal opportunity to revive his once great career.
