Babbel named in reserve side

Former German international Babbel is rumoured to be surplus to requirements for next season and could well make his final appearance in a Liverpool shirt at Widnes's Halton Stadium. The likes of Neil Mellor, John Welsh and Jon Otsemobor, of course, will hope to continue to build on what should be long careers at Anfield with strong performances in the mini-derby.
