Following Wednesday's update about Markus Babbel's progress, we can now confirm that the reports were accurate and the player is able to train again.
A spokesman for the clinic where Babbel has been recovering said: "Markus and his family have shown incredible bravery and determination to beat the virus.
"The therapy has produced some very positive results. Markus has now left the clinic and has been walking well. He has even managed some light training with a ball and shown that his balance is much better."
