Liverpool defender Markus Babbel could be on the bench for Wednesday's game against FC Basle.
Babbel played for the reserves against Manchester United last week to help build up his fitness and he can play if required after coming through the game without any set-backs.
When asked if Babbel would play any part against FC Basle, Houllier hinted that the German could be on the bench.
"Markus had a very good game in the reserves last week against Manchester United!" said the boss.
