Baggies want Carson

West Brom have joined Sheffield Wednesday in the race to sign the England goalkeeper on loan for the 2006/7 season. However, Rafael Benitez will not sanction the move until he knows what Jerzy Dudek's plans are.

If Dudek stays at Liverpool as back up goalkeeper to Pepe Reina then Carson will be allowed out on loan to get some experience. However, if Dudek presses for a transfer Carson will stay at Anfield as second choice keeper.
