Ballague's Benitez boast

The Sky summariser feels that the new Liverpool manager will quietly transform the Reds into a successful side just as he did with reigning La Liga champions Valencia.

Balague, speaking to the club's official website, said: "I think it's a very exciting time to be a Liverpool fan. Liverpool couldn't have chosen a finer coach in Europe.

"Although Jose Mourinho at Chelsea has all the abilities to become great in the Premiership he likes to attract all the attention. That is the complete opposite to Rafa who is a coach who quietly and discretely manages the club and does what is required to make the team successful.

"It is going to take time and if Rafa could have added three more players to this squad then he would. He has already added four quality players to what was an unbalanced squad he inherited."
