Baros bidding for Michael's mantle

The 23-year-old Czech striker struck just minutes in the second half to give the Reds a crucial equaliser in the hard-fought win over Manchester City, and he wants to be the man to hit the twenty goals a year that Owen so regularly brought to the team.

Baros, speaking to the club's official website, said: "Michael is a great player but he's gone now and we have to score goals without him.

"I'd like to be the man who scores the 20 goals a season that he used to. Whether I can or not we'll see at the end of the season. All I know is that I'll do my best in every game to score goals and prove to the manager I can do a job for the team. It
