The Liverpool striker's right-footed shot was enough to beat Ulrich Rame in the French goal after Zdenek Gryera had put the visitors ahead.

More worryingly was the departure of Vladimir Smicer with a knee injury after onyl 15 minutes. It is not yet known how serious it is.
