Bayer boss in confident mood

A 2-0 victory tonight will be enough to take Leverkusen through on the away goals rule and Augenthaler believes his side's home record this season means they can be confident before tonight's game.

Augenthaler said: "A 2-0 win is not impossible for us. Certainly, Liverpool are the favourites and my squad must perform to the best of their ability to create a minor miracle. But they believe it can be done.

"We must give nothing away in defence. If we are leading 1-0 with 12 or 14 minutes left to play, we must not panic. We have to take controlled risks."

Bayer Leverkusen scored three times at home against Roma, Dynamo Kyiv and Real Madrid in the group stage.
