England skipper David Beckham says playing in front of the Kop against Finland made him realise that he had left the bitter memories of France 98 behind him.
Beckham became public enemy number one when he saw red against Argentina four year agos but when he played at Anfield several years later, he says the crowd lifted him and gave him back the confidence he had lost.
"Anfield is the point I look back on," said Beckham. "There were about 40 or 50 thousand people singing 'There's only one David Beckham' and that was coming from the Kop. I thought it was amazing."
