Bellamy not a winger

It was suggested to Rafa Benitez in his pre-match press conference that Craig Bellamy could be utilised as a winger with his searing pace. However, the Liverpool boss was quick to dismiss the suggestion.

"Bellamy is a striker. He likes to play as one of two strikers and he likes to run behind the defenders, so I think playing on the wing would be difficult for him," said Benitez.

"Some games this season he has played on the right or the left side but it's clear that he's more comfortable as a centre-forward."
