Bellamy raring to go

Bellamy has praised Pako Ayestran's training methods which he says have left him feeling fitter than ever and raring to go when the new season starts.

"If I'm being honest I'm feeling as fit as I ever have in football. At the moment I'm in great shape but I know I can still get better and I feel there's more to come yet before we get into competitive action," said the Wales striker.

"I've really enjoyed pre-season training so far, and it's been very different to what I've been used to at other clubs I've been to. It's been interesting. The little bits of match training we've had have been excellent. It's all gone great and I have to say that Pako [Ayesteran] has been exceptional.

"But, I have to be honest and say that I knew what to expect from the training before I came here. I did my homework and found out the way things are done here but I think that's only normal. Having done that I expected it to be good but it's gone even better than I hoped and expected.

"I'll just try and take everything in my stride, focus on doing everything right, staying fit and really get into my stride at the club."
