Bellamy will be a success says Rush

Former Liverpool legend Ian Rush says Bellamy's pace will be a vital asset to the Reds and he will prove to be an important member of the squad.

"Liverpool were lacking a bit of pace and Craig Bellamy has got that so hopefully he can be a good addition to the squad," he said.

"He's had a fantastic season at Blackburn and anyone with that kind of pace will cause defenders problems.

"On different days you have got to have different options and the only option they didn't have was pace.

"They've got the height of Peter Crouch and Fowler there, who is skilful, and with Bellamy, they've got all the options. Let's see what they can do between them.

"He's a Liverpool supporter and it's one of his dreams to play for Liverpool.

"It didn't happen for him at Newcastle but I think this would be his last chance to be successful at a really top club and I don't think he'll waste it.

"I think he just wants to get on with his game. Mark Hughes handled him well at Blackburn and he does need man-managing but going to the club he supported as a kid, he won't need any motivating."
