Benitez a big Cisse fan

Cisse is expected at Anfield on July 1st when the transfer window re-opens, having been signed by previous boss Gerard Houllier. Benitez is glad Houllier did so, believing the French star can play up front with either Michael Owen or Milan Baros.

"Cisse is a very good player," says Benitez. "When I talked to scouts at Valencia they always talked to me about Cisse, they always said to me 'if we have Cisse, we will win the league for two or three years more'.

"I have talked to my physical coach (Ayestaran) about Cisse before - I'm talking about six months ago - when I didn't know I would be here. He said to me 'fantastic player'.

"When you have four or five fantastic players on the team, you have to play in the right manner, because you have Owen, Cisse and Baros, you need to say to them it is possible to play with everybody but it depends on the game.

"In Valencia we played with one team in the UEFA Cup and we won, and another team in the league, and we won. We change and we win.

"In England it is difficult but perhaps with some of these ideas we can give all the players the chance to demon-strate their level."
