Benitez' anger at away form

Liverpool again tasted defeat on their travels yesterday, and although the Reds were hampered by a serious injury list, Benitez was angered that his team weren't able to take something out of the game.

Benitez said: "We know we have a lot of injury problems and I tried to reorganise the team with the best players we had available. I thought we had a good first half and we controlled the game but we didn't get into the box enough to create scoring opportunities.

"In the second half Newcastle passed it better and controlled the game but there weren't many chances. They scored from a free-kick but in my opinion it wasn't a free-kick but there's nothing you can do about that.

"I am disappointed as we keep losing games by the odd goal and we don't play well away from home. It will be difficult for us to reduce the gap if we don't start winning away from home.

"There is still a lot of points to play for and we still have to keep fighting for that fourth place. We have an important Champions League game on Wednesday and we have to look to get a good result against Leverkusen."
