Antonio Barragan has already made his first team debut, coming on as a second half sub in Liverpool's 3-1 victory over CSKA Sofia last month. Rafael Benitez is confident his other signings can soon follow him.

New signings Jack Hobbs, Godwin Antwi, Miquel Roque, Ramon Castille and Besian Idrizaj, along with several of the Academy graduates will also be hoping to follow in Stephen Warnock, Neil Mellor and Zak Whitbread's footsteps and break into the first team squad.

"Maybe they will have similar possibilities. It depends on injuries and themselves. If they play really well then it will be difficult for me to ignore them," says Benitez.

"From what I have seen so far they have done well and worked hard. We have a lot of young players in the reserve team now and it is a little bit light on experience.

"What we are trying to do is prepare a new team that will be packed with quality players and in time we hope these players will be ready for the first team."
