Benitez beats Baros blues

After becoming increasingly disenchanted with his lack of first-team action under previous Anfield incumbent Gerard Houllier, the Euro 2004 Golden Boot winning Czech star is now revitalised under the new methods of Rafael Benitez.

Baros said: "I wanted to leave Liverpool after last season, but now things have happened and because there is a new manager there is still time for me here.

"I will fight for my place now. Maybe I will stay or maybe I will have to go, but I want to fight to get into the team. I'm here now and will do my best for Liverpool.

"I think I have more chance of playing this season. I hope I can play more regularly and think it's possible because Benitez is here. I feel very good about my football after Euro 2004.

"We are working far more on tactics now and the training is better. All the players are enjoying it more," he said.

"He wants to play a more attacking style, and we will be happy to do what he wants from us."
