The Liverpool manager's current contract runs out at the end of next season, with the new one offering him the role until 2012.
"The question was about the length of the contract," he said. "I was not demanding more money, that is not true.
"I was just telling my advisors to go to the meeting and see what they wanted. It was not about money.
"The owners were talking about an extension and hopefully it will be resolved sooner rather than later.
"When my agent went into talks with the club, I made it clear to him that money was not an issue. The main question is about the length of any new deal.
"Money is last on the list and I was very disappointed by what appeared.
"It seems very clear to me that some people are trying to create trouble."
