Benitez happy with a hard fought victory

"It was important for us because, after winning the Carling Cup game in midweek, all the supporters were expecting good game," said the Liverpool boss.

"We knew they would be organised and we knew their strengths, but we worked hard for a win.

"I think that we had opportunities in the first half, but we conceded a goal because of lack of concentration.

"In the second half they played well ran a lot and kept pressing and only unilt the end we had these options because it was difficult to find the space.
