Benitez said: "We have done a good job tonight and 3-1 is a good result. We played well, we were compact and we also used the wide areas to good effect.
"CSKA were a good team who attacked with pace. They caused us some problems at times but in the end I think we did well both in defence and in attack.
"I'm pleased for Morientes because he needed goals. Now we want to see him scoring in the Premiership. He is a quality player and I am confident we will see the best of him this season.
"It's always good to see your strikers scoring goals. Now we hope they can do the same in the Premiership, starting at Middlesbrough."
