Gerrard took a knock to the ankle just before half time and was withdrawn as a precaution. With the players due back at Melwood this afternoon the club doctor will assess the injury then.
Benitez said: "Steven has a little problem but I am hopeful it isn't too serious. The club doctor will have a look at him when we get back to Liverpool."
