Benitez ignores injury crisis

With Djibril Cisse out for the rest of the season, Milan Baros out for at least a month and the manager unable to sign any replacements until January you could understand Rafael Benitez' frustration with the current situation. However, the Anfield boss is not moaning about the injuries, preferring instead to concentrate on the players he does have available.

"If you're too busy crying over things then you are wasting time. You can't do anything about injuries, so it's far better to work with the team instead," says the boss.

"When I was at Valencia we played at Celta Vigo and Osasuna and we had 13 players unavailable, but we coped and we won the league that year. Now we must cope again. We need to stay calm.

"If you cry, you won't achieve anything. What you can do is analyse the squad and work with what you have and you need to be calm. Look at the starts that other coaches made at their clubs. They needed time and it's the same for me. You work for a week to try to win, and then go back to work again after the game."
