Benitez seeks improvement

Liverpool dominated against a poor Norwich side from the off but Benitez believes his side should have turned that dominance into an even more convincing scoreline.

The new darling of the Kop said: "I was happy but I would have been happier if we had scored more goals. In the first half we played very well and could have scored three of four more.

"We can score more goals but it's important to play well and we needed to bounce back after the defeat at Manchester United.

"I thought Xabi Alonso and Didi Hamann played really well. Xabi is a very clever player and has settled in well to the team.

"It was good for Djibril Cisse and Milan Baros to both score and that is important.

"We are doing the right things and when you see the players each day in training they are doing well and adapting to my ideas - we are about 60 per cent of what I want.

"I learn all the time about my team, we still need to progress and still raise our level. We played well here but I still need to see my team play against stronger sides."
