Benitez urges English bosses to spread their wings

Very few English managers venture overseas, while many top flight Premiership clubs are happy to seek foreign coaches.

With the FA now looking for a replacement for Sven Goran Eriksson, they may have to look further afield to find the right man for the job.

"I think there are two or three countries where there is a lot of money in football - Spain, England and Italy - and it is easier for the managers to stay in the country they know and earn a lot of money," said the Liverpool boss.

"We had the same situation with Spanish managers. When some of us decide to go to another country, maybe other managers come behind us. I think it is necessary that one or two English managers go to another country.

"It's not easy - the top sides like to sign managers with experience, maybe in another country, so it's always a vicious circle."
