Benitez: We cannot afford to relax

"I have said we are about 60 to 65% of where I want us to be and in my opinion we are still at that level," said the Liverpool boss.

"We have more confidence now but we have to keep it under control. We cannot afford to relax now.

"We are getting there and we are playing better, but before you can say we have definitely improved you need to see it over many games and not just two or three.

"Every day we are working hard to improve and I am seeing better things and better movement from the players.

"Sometimes people see the spectacular goals against Charlton and think it's all down to the manager and everything is now working but it is down to the players and it is not as easy as that.

"You have to see the big picture and I am seeing better things each day. I am pleased with how we are progressing but we still have a long way to go.

"It is important to see how the team is developing. I wouldn't be satisfied with two or three wins if we didn't play well because it would suggest we are not improving.

"That is why I am not concerned about the league table at the moment. I have a quick look at it after the weekend but it is in May when it counts."
