Liverpool midfielder Patrick Berger is still refusing to sign the new 1-year contract extension offered to him by the club in the hope that someone will come in for him before the new transfer deadline of August 31st.
When the transfer window reopens in January, Berger would be free to negotiate a Bosman transfer away from Anfield, although he has hinted he will sign the new deal if nobody snaps him up.
