Best performance so far says Miller

Although the game finished 0-0 Miller says the Reds' performance over 90 minutes was an impressive one and it will give the team confidence that they can get a win in the league game on Sunday.

"It was a good performance from us last night and probably our best performance of the season so far," he said.

"It was a difficult game with a lot at stake but after the initial 20 minutes I think we had good control of the game. In the second half we had a lot of good possession in the correct areas and we were unfortunate not to score.

"We competed very well with Chelsea all over the pitch. We set out to press them early and not to allow them time in possession and we succeeded in that. There were numerous occasions in the attacking half of the field when we lost possession but then worked extremely hard to get it back quickly and counter attack.

"Chelsea had maybe two half chances in the game. Robben had a chance which Reina saved well and then there was that opportunity towards the end when Reina came out and pushed the ball away to the side.

"I think four points from six in the Champions League is a good start for us. Games against British opposition are always going to be a bit nip and tuck and we have also gone away to a very good Real Betis team and won the game. In my opinion, if we can win in Anderlecht then we'll have a great chance of qualifying for the next stage.

"Chelsea will be a bit more wary of us now ahead of Sunday's game. They will realise that we matched them in every department last night. It's a league game, we're at home and we don't lose too many games at Anfield. We want to go and try to win the three points.

"They have hit the ground running since the start of the season. They have competed very well and they are a difficult team to beat because they have a good squad with a winning mentality. But we don't fear them and we know we can beat them."
