Blackburn have had a disastrous start to the season, losing their last two matches four nil, and currently lying at the foot of the Premiership with only six points.

But Benitez has urged his players to maintain their form and not under-estimate the match at Ewood Park, with Rovers now under the leadership of Mark Hughes.

Benitez said: "Normally when a team has bad results then it is a bad time to play them. They will have character in their side and they will want to do things differently to improve."

But the Reds manager admitted that the Reds are now playing with a new-found confidence, and the new players and change of system now bearing rewards.

"It will be a difficult match for us but we are full of confidence at the moment and have belief in ourselves. We are now playing well both at home and away and the level of our game is improving. The more we work and train together then the better we will get," Benitez added.
