Bitter Moyes wishes Reds success

Everton are now certain of fourth spot in the Premiership and, under current rules, a place in next season's Champions League.

But Moyes insists his side have proved to be the better of the two over the course of the season.

"The team who wins the Champions League should have the opportunity to contest it if they don't get through the following season," he said.

"That isn't necessarily the rules of this country. If that had happened and Liverpool had got ahead of Everton there would have been an uproar, it would have been a disgrace and could have caused problems in our city.

"As it is Liverpool are there. I hope they will go on to win the Champions League but there's no denying Everton are the best team in the city this season."
