Chris Kirkland has been ruled out of action for 4-6 weeks after injuring his groin warming up for England's Under 21's, so Patrice Luzi will be called up into the first team squad.
Emile Heskey is likely to get the nod over Milan Baros after being rested by Sven Goran Eriksson on Wednesday night.
Anthony Le Tallec is also hoping to make his Premiership debut, although he is likely to start on the bench.
